My favorite destroyed paint jobs are alligatored paints.  Not because I like alligators but because I like crocodiles.  And so far, I haven’t heard of any paint jobs that have been crocodiled.  Which is weird, considering they both look like father and baby copies of each other.

Alligatored paint is a term used to refer to wrinkled paint jobs.  There are many reasons for wrinkles but mostly, the reason is the same as the reason people get wrinkles: they get old.  It’s not like your balls which are just wrinkled by default.  When you want to fix alligatored areas of your paint job, just remove it with a regular scraper.  If it leaves holes or craters, fill it with a spacking compound.  When it dries, apply similar-colored paint over.

Alligator gone.
